Varierande snøgrense i regionen. På kysten mot storhavet er fjella i stor grad snøfrie, medan det framleis er skiføre aust på Hinnøya og i Vågan.

Avalanche risk assessment

På toppane kjem det noko nysnø, og dette kombinert med vind kan føre til at det vert danna ferske flak. Når været står på kan det vere lett å løyse ut skred her. Ver merksam på at der det heng igjen skavlar kan det vere fare for at skavlane kan brekke og falle ned. Der det ligg igjen snø på bratte svaberg kan det også vere fare for glideskred.
